Deal Alert: Orchids for $16

Orchids Make Gorgeous Gifts
UPDATE:   I didn't see any orchids at Sam's today, 12//27/2012. Much of their Christmas items are  gone. Everything is half price, but the selection is shrinking.

Just a quick post for a deal I saw today (12//5/12). Near the entrance to Sam's Club there were some beautiful live orchid plants for just $15.99. These are the typical plants you see with the purple flowers and long skinny stems. But these had a ton of blooms on them and looked gorgeous.

I've seen similar orchids for sale at $40 but they did not have nearly as many flowers on them. This seems like a great gift. I'd try to buy it on a day that was not totally freezing. They are tropical plants after all. Maybe you could go with a friend who could stay just inside the doors with the purchased plant. Then you could drive up to the entrance in a warmed car for a quick pick-up of said friend who can then hold the orchid carefully all the way home. When you decide to gift the orchid, you'll need to do something similar to protect it.

  1. Pretty! I've always wanted an orchid, they're so delicate and beautiful, but the cost has always been prohibitive. Too bad we don't have Sam's Club around here.

    1. I agree. I wish you had a Sam's by you Jordann! My MIL has a friend with an orchid. Every year for MIL's birthday her friend brings her one of the flowers in a bowl of water to enjoy. These are people in their 90's, but they really treasure them.

  2. I saw orchids at Walmart yesterday, 1/25/13, for $13.99, but they were not nearly as nice looking as the ones I saw at Sam's. Hopefully some nice ones will be available soon.
